SUMMARY:
Our CDL Drivers play a critical role in day to day operations: interacting with customers, sales representatives, and vendors daily to meet the expectations of the business.
They are responsible for delivering, unloading and checking in the product to customers each day.
Along with supporting our production team during downtime, such as: packing our product, driving forklift to help move our product, washing totes, and other support functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Drive assigned route in a safe, efficient, timely and legal manner.
Transport and deliver product or goods and materials over the road over long distances in a safe, efficient, timely and legal manner.
Load and unload trailers
Pick up product or goods and materials, verify loads for accuracy, and deliver them as instructed
Complete and verify all necessary paperwork and maintain records required under state and federal laws and regulations.
Ensure that all operations are in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
Perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects/repairs to Company personnel.
Represent the Company and the trucking industry in a professional manner
Communicate with our logistics coordinator as needed
Comply with all safe work practices, policies, and processes at all times.
Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations through ELD trucking app.
Wear all required and necessary Personal Protective Equipment.
Represent the Company and the trucking industry in a professional manner.
Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Valid Class A driver's license required
Acceptable driving record
Must pass a background check and drug test
Skilled at driving large vehicles
Comfortable maneuvering and parking a tractor-trailer
Alert, focused, and detail-oriented
Physically and mentally fit
Able to operate an electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.
Proficient using GPS and other routing systems
An innate sense of direction
Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful
High level of composure and good stress management
COMPETENCY/KNOWLEDGE:
Microsoft Office 365 Software (Word, Outlook, Teams)
Customer and Personal Service- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Transportation- Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
Sitting for long periods of time
Travel as needed
SCHEDULE:
Standard schedule is Monday - Friday, occasionally Saturdays during our busy season.
You must be willing to be flexible with schedule as company needs.
8-12 hours day shift
Deliveries within Washington and borderline Oregon.
Seldom out of state deliveries to our other locations in CA, AZ, and WI.
Per diem is offered for out of state trips
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent
Certificate from an accredited CDL school
21 years or older
Valid Class A driver's license required.
Hazmat and Tanker endorsements required.
2+ years proven experience with tractor-trailer driving preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment is mostly outdoors during all weather conditions, with some indoor work.
Work is performed around moving machinery and equipment, noise levels vary depending on what equipment is being worked around such as: Gas/Air/Electric pumps, forklifts, ladders, hoses, tractors, sky trek, skyjack, catwalks, general hand tools, agitators, mixers, scales, pH meters, specific gravity cups, valves, camlock couplers, y-strainers, sweecos, and decanters.
