Functional Fitness Trainers work with a variety of clients ranging from low-risk, high performing individuals, to high-risk, medically supervised individuals.
The Personal Trainer is able to design and implement client exercise programs, focusing on the need for individualization of each client’s program based on his/her specific needs and goals.
Functional Fitness requires that trainers are able to guide Physical Therapy patient’s through their Pro-Motion Physical Therapy often refers patients to PMFF as part of what we call the REPS (Rehabilitation Enhancement Program).
Personal trainers are required to help lead these clients through the program.
Functional Fitness requires all trainers to be first responders to all emergency situations and possess skills in demonstrating appropriate emergency procedures during exercise testing and/or training.
This position requires a high level of physical activity, including standing for extended periods of time, demonstration of exercises/equipment, spotting, and moving heavy weights and equipment.
The ability to lift a minimum of 80 pounds is essential.
Proper exercise technique instruction, as provided by the NSCA, will be required of all trainers.
Trainers must also possess a high level of knowledge of the human body and be able to recognize and interpret its biomechanical and physiological responses to varying exercise demands.
Qualified individuals are expected to communicate to members, clients, and fellow staff in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner and retain the ability to maintain confidentiality of clients and their personal information.
We are looking to add a full time/part time trainer to our team.
Duties:
- Conduct fitness assessments and consultations to determine clients' goals and fitness levels
- Design personalized exercise programs tailored to clients' needs and goals
- Provide one-on-one personal training sessions to clients, focusing on proper form and technique
- Motivate and encourage clients to achieve their fitness goals
- Monitor clients' progress and make adjustments to their programs as needed
- Provide guidance on nutrition and lifestyle changes to support clients' overall wellness
- Maintain a clean and safe workout environment
Experience:
- Previous experience in sales or fitness sales is preferred
- Experience in sports coaching or group fitness instruction is a plus
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and body mechanics
- Degree in physical education or related field is desirable
- Certification in personal training from a recognized organization is required
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to build rapport with clients and create a positive training environment
- Strong sales skills to promote personal training services and attract new clients
- Proficient in program design, including strength training, cardiovascular exercise, and flexibility training
- Knowledge of nutrition principles and ability to provide basic dietary guidance
- Ability to adapt exercises for clients with different fitness levels or physical limitations
