Job Summary
The Department of Communication at CWU is accepting applications to fill current and future part-time appointment lecturer positions to teach online and face-to-face courses, introductory human and mass communication courses, practical and applied journalism and public relations courses and General Education courses.
Specific courses in need of instruction include Introduction to Human Communication (online), two sections of General Education 184 courses (both online), Introduction to Mass Communication (in class, on the Ellensburg campus), and Business and Professional Speaking (in class, on the Ellensburg campus).

Minimum Qualifications
MA in communication, mass communication, media studies, journalism, public relations, or related fields.
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in communication, mass communication, media studies, journalism, public relations, or related fields.
Evidence of successful college-level teaching.
Commitment to interdisciplinary and academic service learning.
Professional experience in journalism, public relations, or other media-related industries.
Pay & Work Schedule
Pay: Based on the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
The minimum remuneration for the non-tenure-track titles for the 2023-2024 academic year will be:
(a) Lecturer: $1,154 per workload unit for faculty with terminal degrees; $922 per workload unit for faculty without terminal degrees.
(b) Senior Lecturer: $1,269 per workload unit for faculty with terminal degrees; $1,013 per workload unit for faculty without terminal degrees.

Additional Information: This announcement will be used to develop a pool of applicants for positions in the department of Communication through March 2024.
There is a possibility that selected applicants may be called on short notice to fill lecturer vacancies on a quarter-by-quarter basis.
Screening of applications begins immediately and will continue as needed.
The number of lecturer positions filled varies from quarter to quarter, depending upon the needs of the department.
Positions typically start at the beginning of an academic quarter.
