Goldendale Community Library has an opening for a full-time Senior Library Assistant working 40 hours per week.
The primary responsibilities of this position are assisting with patrons and books in the library branch, driving the bookmobile and planning and presenting programs in the branch and community.
A typical day could include: Driving the bookmobile along a regular route.
The route may vary, but it averages 60 miles one-way and includes stops from Appleton to Alderdale.
Routine circulation duties such as shelving materials, checking materials in and out and creating/updating library accounts.
Answering patron questions regarding resources, services, technology, equipment and devices.
Planning and presenting programs/events in coordination with the Branch Manager and/or Senior Branch Supervisor for patrons of all ages.
Participating in community events and facilitating programs offsite.
Position Schedule Tuesdays: 8am - 4:30pm with a 30 min lunch break Wednesdays: 8am - 4:30pm with a 30 min lunch break Thursdays: 8am - 4:30pm with a 30 min lunch break Fridays: 9am - 6pm with a 60 min lunch break Saturdays: 9am - 6pm with a 60 min lunch break This position will drive the bookmobile on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays.
They will work in the Goldendale Community Library on Fridays and Saturdays.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements To be considered for this position, applicants must have at least 3 years of clerical experience or 3 years of library experience.
Experience working with children is preferred.
Since this position is required to regularly drive the bookmobile, you must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this job is $18.
51 - $26.
39 per hour.
Offers to new employees with 3 years of clerical or library experience are expected to be at $18.
51 per hour.
Employees have annual pay increases until they reach the top of the pay grade.
This takes an average of 12 years.
In addition, this position pays a 5% pay premium for additional language skills.
To qualify for the additional pay, employees must pass a test demonstrating verbal and written fluency in languages commonly used in our communities.
Examples may include but are not limited to Spanish and American Sign Language.
