Job Summary Central Washington University is recruiting an Associate Dean to join our College of Business team in Ellensburg, Washington.

Primary responsibilities include AACSB (professional accreditation) coordination and leadership for all curricular issues, guidelines and processes, international students, and graduate education; interdisciplinary programming; implementation of College of Business courses, programs and strategic priorities; and policy coordination.
The Associate Dean also serves on a variety of college and university committees and acts in the Dean's absence.

Job Duties Support for the Dean: - Collaborate with the Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and coordinate implementation of CoB strategic priorities - Provide CoB administrative leaders support in areas of culturally responsive curriculum development, equity-focused institutional assessment and improvement, human resource management, faculty/staff development and performance evaluations, and budget and finance - Support the Dean in decision-making, information gathering, report draft preparation, meeting attendance, and follow-through on matters assigned to the chairs and center directors - Collaborate with the other Associate Deans - Collaborate to ensure program quality and effectiveness and to promote student learning, student satisfaction, and student retention in all student populations - Attend Associate Deans and Academic Affairs meetings - Review NTT appointments - Act in the Dean’s absence Academic Programs and Curricular Management: - Provide strategic management of general education, graduate education, and major program and course offerings, as well as new graduate program development - Assist with CurricuLog approval changes - Attend Faculty Senate Curriculum Committee meetings - In partnership with industry department chairs and faculty develop new graduate programs/certificates.
Work on interdisciplinary program opportunities - Assist in program marketing - Support collaboration across units with graduate education and research, including grant proposals Accreditation (AACSB) - Responsible for AACSB under the new 2020 Standards - Work closely with department chairs, staff, faculty, staff, etc.
to meet all AACSB standards and to maintain continued progress Policy Coordination and Committee Membership: - Represent the college on committees as assigned - Work with the Dean to improve and maintain policies, procedures, processes related to the college and the university - Approve grade changes, incompletes, independent studies, and internships (for-credit) consistent with university and program policies Supervision: - Oversee the supervision of the Business Assessment and Analyst and graduate assistants - Clearly define performance expectations, ensure accountability, and provide ongoing informal feedback, coaching, and mentoring.
Conduct formal performance evaluations - Recognize value of and promote diverse workforce.
Value and encourage diverse perspectives, creativity, and teamwork - Ensure employees have necessary resources - Oversee and direct the work of staff; serve as mentor, coach, and leader, and resolve complaints or issues - Promote professional development opportunities - Develop and foster supportive working relationships, motivation, and engagement - Communicate information to staff on an ongoing basis to influence staff engagement and to be a part of a larger community - Take corrective action in a timely manner - Recognize and reward employees for good performance - Schedule employee work hours/shifts; monitor hours worked; approve payable time and absence requests - Adjust leadership style as needed to achieve results.

Minimum Qualifications Earned doctorate from an accredited institution in a closely related discipline associated with programs represented in the College of Business.
A record of teaching effectiveness, professional leadership, and scholarship sufficient to support tenure in one of the CoB’s academic departments.
Experience in graduate program/certificate development in partnership with industry experts and faculty.
Demonstrated successful departmental or college-level administrative, operational and process improvement, and accreditation experiences in an institution of higher education.
Working knowledge of inclusion and equity issues within a residential liberal arts environment.
Collaborative and forward-thinking leadership style with the ability to cultivate and maintain strategic internal and external partnerships to benefit the success of students, colleagues, and initiatives.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated expertise in analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data.
Experience with culturally responsive curriculum development and with assessment.
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent relationship building skills and initiative and enjoy working with minimal supervision in a dynamic, collaborative academic atmosphere.
Demonstrated ability and/or experience working with students and/or co-workers from a wide range of abilities, backgrounds, and experiences.
OR applicable combination of education and/or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
Preferred Qualifications A record of teaching effectiveness, professional leadership, and scholarship sufficient to support appointment as associate or full professor in one of the CoB’s academic departments.
Demonstrated ability to strategize graduate course scheduling and enrollments.
Experience analyzing budget implications in support of program assessment and strategic planning and for compliance within approved budget parameters.
Commitment and experience in building innovative and culturally sustaining curricular and/or programs, to include multi-modal, digital, and high impact practices.
Demonstrated participation in programs designed to promote inclusion.
Experience working within and/or across a system of universities, and regional/remote centers.
Well-developed organizational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently to meet competing deadlines.
Ability to incorporate multicultural perspectives and issues into everyday responsibilities.

It is essential to be able to remain at a desk/computer workstation for prolonged periods of time, perform extensive data entry and other computer-related tasks and create/maintain filing systems for departmental records.
Some evening or weekend work and/or occasional travel is required.
