Experience: Minimum three years clinical experience within the last five years, preferably in Surgical Services and at least one year of supervisory experience Education: Educational preparation Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Computer literate, familiar with quality, clinical, and financial reports.
Provide written proof of health status and ability to lift, bend, and squat the level and amount determined by each job assigned.
Knowledge of home health care regulations and procedures.
Effective communication skills and ability to lead a team of personnel with a variety of backgrounds and educational experiences.
Possess good time management, problem-solving, work ethic skills Licenses/Registrations/Certifications: Current WA state Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Current BLS within 3 months of hire.
Current driver’s license and a dependable insured automobile.
The Surgical Services Service Manager is responsible and accountable for planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating patient care programs and staff activities in the Surgery Department.
The Nurse Manager is a working manager position and demonstrates professional nursing practice through implementation of evidence-based practices.
Implements programs to improve the delivery of patient care, establishes relationships with professional and/or health related groups in the community, works effectively with others, and makes significant contributions to the nursing profession.
Provides, promotes and supports a professional environment that utilizes effective delegation of responsibility.
Effectively utilizes lines of authority and lines of communication as outlined by the organizational chart.
Provides leadership and management oversight 24 hours/7 day a week responsibility and accountability for managing/directing patient care activities for: WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The work requires regular and recurring physical exertion such as standing or walking for prolonged periods of time; frequent bending, reaching, stooping, crouching and stretching required during the normal course of the day.
The employee must exert 10-20 pounds of force constantly to move objects and must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
Requires frequent repetitive hand/wrist motions and finger manipulation.
Requires normal/corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
The work involves recurring exposure to moderate risks which require special safety and health precautions and the use of Personal Protective Equipment; risks such as exposure to contagious diseases, contaminated bodily fluids, sharp instruments, and other contaminants.
