Job title: Truss Designer
Pay: Starting at $23 to $27 depending on experience.
Schedule: In Office, Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm
Location: Sunnyside, Washington
The Truss Designer is responsible for making the customers' vision into reality by creating designs based on the customer's needs.
This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and works closely with the Sales team.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a similar job
1 year of prior experience within the construction industry
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Ability to read blueprints
Knowledgeable in the construction industry
Knowledgeable in working with design software
Understanding of engineering fundamentals
Strong math skills
Must be able to operate personal computer, smartphone, scanner, and any other equipment necessary for the job
Must be able to type 40+ WPM
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Duties and Responsibilities
Creates designs for all assigned jobs based on the plan and quote specifications provided by the customer and sales team
Maintains detailed records and reports of related information on a job to job basis
Collaborates with the sales team and others as necessary
Visits with job site supervisors to ensure any issues that arise are resolved properly
Read and interpret blueprints provided by customers
Designing truss' that conform to building requirements and codes
The primary working conditions for this position are in an office environment with a computer.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Must be able to work in an office environment
Must be able to drive a company vehicle when necessary
Both local and overnight travel may be required
Ability to utilize all appropriate safety equipment
