” Job Description: The Therapeutic Child Care Assistant is to assist parents to care for their children and to model caring for their children in ways that support the emotional, intellectual, social, health, and physical needs of their children.
Qualifications: Successful applicants will: Have high school diploma or GED.
Associate degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
Experience in working with preschool-aged children, toddlers, and infants.
STARS training preferred.
Knowledge of various behavior patterns of preschool-aged children, toddlers, and infants, as well as basic concepts of development in children.
Benefits & Compensation: The hourly range for this position is 16.

pdf Therapeutic Child Care Assistant Job Duties: Provide consistent and appropriate interactions with children at all times.
Maintain a professional relationship with parents.
Participate in development and enhancement of age appropriate and individually appropriate curriculum for children that support parenting plans and child development plans for each patient.
Be assertive in interactions and supervision of parenting, stepping near and observing, stepping back, and observing, or stepping in and stating an expectation and/or offering hands on support.
Be knowledgeable in proper procedure for diaper changing, if applicable as outlined in agency policies.
Document unusual occurrences of patient behavior in the form of an objective reward.
Be knowledgeable of social beginnings and other permissible forms of guidance and discipline.
Understanding the difference between discipline and punishment.
Disinfect counter tops, sinks, and toys per agency policies.
Clean and vacuum child-care areas.
Clean and disinfect bathrooms/changing areas.
Participate in keeping room safe, healthy, and clean.
Store supplies that are delivered to child-care and inform supervisor when supplies are low.
Do laundry if needed and instructed to do so.
